My husband and I will be in Houston for Valentine's weekend. We're staying in the Galleria area but we'd like to explore during the day.

Is there somewhere that would be good for a light hike/ garden walk?

Must-see museum?

We've loved the food we've eaten in Houston before. Any restaurants we just can't miss?

Romantic Valentine restaurants that are still going to serve good food that night? (And not a prepackaged bacon wrapped filet or some other nonsense?)

Arboretum has nice trails for a light hike. 5 - 10 minute drive from the Galleria.

Bayou Bend is a nice combination of a museum and a garden.

Brazos Bend State Park is nice, you would see many alligators.

Restaurants will be booked , make reservations early...what cuisine interests you?

Unfortunately you'll just miss the Van Gogh exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts. That doesn't open until March 10th. But you can still enjoy the Museum District, Herman Park, and the Centennial Gardens. You can also visit the Menil.

Bayou Bend is nice as well although I prefer to go a little later in the Spring when all the azaleas are in bloom.

Restaurants are too many to name but since you're staying in the Galleria area I would recommend Peli Peli. I've never had a bad meal there and it is a unique dining experience.

Good luck!

You can hike up to the top of Mount 59/610 interchange. Good views. Just mind the traffic.

The Menil, Rothko Chapel, take a trip a bit further to MFAH and the new Houston Bean.

Peli Peli is on my list, but you can't go wrong with Caracol, your choice of high-end steaks are everywhere, but I really like Ronnie Killen's STQ on Voss between Westheimer and San Felipe. If you really want to abuse your credit card, Nobu is now open in the Galleria in the old Saks space.
