The "kid" already had a criminal record and has been expelled from two schools.

And the driver who was chasing the kids may only have been trying to get their license plate number. There's no proof that he was brandishing a gun and even the police think the kid may have made that up to justify his reckless driving.

My question is why wasn’t the kid at Church with her, as his mother it’s things like leaving him st home to his own devices that will lead him to becoming a criminal. She should have had a rule that if she goes to Church he goes with her period.

So far, the DA's office says it has not found evidence to validate the witness' statement.”
Why haven’t they talked to the other driver?! Or searched his car immediately at the scene?

Apparently the man fled the scene of the accident. Although fled is the wrong word as his vehicle wasn't involved in the accident.

Which articles talk about this? I'd be interested in reading them!

This info will be used to tip the scales to conviction and/or increase the possible sentence he gets. Ross Ulbricht, the Silk Road guy, believed he was having people executed (when in fact they were scams to get his money). Even though the executions never happened, this info contributed to his sentencing: LWOP. (one charge based on the fake executions was dismissed after the Supreme Court decided not to hear his appeal for the stuff he was convicted of)

Fun fact: The first fake execution was prompted by a DEA employee, Carl Force, stealing money from Ulbricht and pinning the crime on Curtis Green, who he had busted. (Ulbricht thought Green did it and thought he was having Green executed) Force was convicted and sentenced to six years in prison for that.
