I am interested in hearing thoughts, predictions, etc on the new street extensions (that include railroad crossings) in Cypress off 290. Mueschke and and Mason are going to extend across 290. There’s going to be a big MPC just south of 290. They’ve already cut the big trees down.

I wish they wouldn’t cut down all the big trees, but instead, plan the MPC to at least preserve some of the trees for not just the thoroughfares but for front yards like they do in Austin. With every fourth or fifth house being the same, it would make the community less sterile looking imo.

"Like they do in Austin"

There's plenty of developments in Houston that don't cut down trees and there's plenty of developments in Austin that do.

Let me rephrase—like they do in Round Rock—better? And we’re talking about MPCs off 290. Correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t think I’ve seen one new MPC that preserved the trees. Since you said plenty, please show me these new communities to help me if I start house hunting again. Please don’t show me these tall pencil thin scraggly trees that you see in some backyards like in Sienna Plantation.

I saw that this weekend as well. I told my wife that is where Dunham Pointe will be. She argued that it wasn't the MPC cutting the trees down but thought it was part of the 290 expansion or clearing for the existing power lines just behind the trees. I just read an article on Dunham Pointe. I believe they were talking late 2019 early 2020 for the Mason and Mueschke extensions.
