I thought the video was well done. I'm a sucker for sad endings, though.

Astroworld will forever be a Houston icon. I've been going there since I was a kid. The location was great, South Central Houston.

I think the lesson to be leaned though, is once you lose local control of an asset there is no telling where the chain of ownership will take it from there. If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself first, and then keep doing it yourselves.....

I was also very fortunate to have enjoyed Astroworld in its heyday. I have nothing but great memories.

On several occasions I would exit the Park, walk over to the Astrodome, find a used ticket on the ground and go watch an Astros game. I remember once going to see a Houston Hurricane soccer game.

I don't know if Astroworld could ever be replaced. Do families still visit amusement parks other than Disneyland or Disneyworld?

Even if Houston built another theme park, it wouldn't be the same as Astroworld. It was tough to get a job there, no matter if you knew someone who worked there.

I know a couple of pretty girls, sisters, who worked at the fried chicken place in Astroworld. Married one of them.

The lesson from Astroworld is don't allow a bunch of low income housing the spring up around an amusement park. Same thing goes for shopping malls. Mobs of unsupervised juveniles will use those places as hangouts and eventually drive away all the rest of the customers.

I suppose those bunch of low income housing that sprung up bought tickets. Yeah ok, don't allow them?
