None.

If someone had all the money in the world they wouldn’t even be living in the Houston area to begin with.

You really should travel more often, there are much nicer places to live - especially if you can afford it.

Exactly! Sugar Land has enough amenities and is CLOSER to the city where I can easily escape to the city instead of being "stuck" in the burbs to have a good time or try some variety outside of the burbs.

I live in The Woodlands and I'd say it's the best looking Suburb in the city and one of the best looking in Texas. When my Wife(then GF) moved to The Woodlands I use to be so happy going out there. It was so exciting and than you had the restaurants/shops along Waterway. Not to mention Amphitheater, market square, mall and beautiful neighborhoods and trails galore. For me, after awhile that got old REAL QUICK.

The Woodlands is for some people but it aint for everybody and even with the nice amenities and beautiful landscape it's just too bland for my taste. And so far! I always find myself heading to the city to have a really good time. The restaurants are mostly bland. Not enough diversity at all for my taste. More color is moving in but it's still predominately White. It's pretty boring for the most part. Safe and good schools but social life is meh.

There are a myriad of reasons why a person would choose to live in Houston. I mean, I make enough money to buy a home in LA (where I work) but I choose to live in Houston and fly to LA 2-3 times a month. I also grew up in LA even though none of my family is there anymore.

People who have means choose to live all over.

Why is he an idiot? Many of the River Oaks people are worth more 50 million and even couple of them in the billions. There's a reason they choose Houston and I'm sure they have houses in other locations, too.

Of course, there are nicer places to live but there are many that want to stay in Houston.

If I had all the money in the world, I would STILL live in Houston. I would have no desire to live elsewhere, but I would travel more often.

Only the woodlands, not Spring which seems to breed crazy behavior and/or people. I like the trails and the design of the Woodlands. I'm a cyclist, and I've basically given it up living in Houston. But if I lived in the Woodlands, I'd take it back up. To the previous poster, Katy is boring and flat and treeless as all get out. That's why it's last. I would pick it absolutely last and I challenge anyone to reasonably pick it anything other.

Default The Woodlands

Man if you could move the Woodlands to the location of the Greenspoint area right around the Beltway 8 and 45 it would be the absolute perfect place to live :-) It is already a really nice place but is a bit removed from the inner loop. It is as far away from Houston as Fort Worth is from Dallas. Fort Worth and Dallas weren't even combined into one area by the census bureau until the 2000 census. Due to that I have to give the nod to Sugar Land.

There’s two different parts of Spring, The Woodlands/Spring and Old Spring. Old Spring is what exactly you described as crazy behavior and/or people. I really dislike that area. The new Spring around the Woodlands area like Gosling Rd/West Rayford area near Grand Parkway is very nice, although, in major construction right now. It’s a war zone out there.

The Woodlands is basically Spring anyway. Anyone that lives in The Woodlands can also put Spring address in case some people didn’t know that.

Agreed on all accounts.

If you’re in a minivan headed to a youth soccer game, The Woodlands is the place for you.

Or if you’re a member of the country club and like to play golf in every spare moment, this is the place for you.

Or if you’re a workaholic at Exxon, Chevron, or Anadarko and your house is basically just a place to crash and drink coffee, this is the place for you.

Or if you’re a homebody who spends every waking hour gardening and restocking your bird feeders, this is the place for you.

Otherwise, you’re going to be bored out of your mind.
