Galena Park
Recently offered teaching position in Galena Park ISD any recomendations for high school to teach at? I'm also concerned about elemenary schools because I have two little ones that will need good schools ages 3 and 6. What about he cost of living, and best areas to raise kids something safe, fun but nothing fancy just nice, friendly areas to live in?

I'd say look around Deer Park or the southern part of Pasadena. Galena Park itself is dirt cheap, and when you get there you'll see why.

I agree go for Deer Park as Galena Park is not where you need to be.

A lot of people work in places they might not necessarily want to live in. Galena Park is pretty much a low-income refinery town, and it smells like one. The parts to the north and east of Galena Park city that Galena Park ISD serves are mostly sketchy with relation to crime as well.

thanks for the advice i will consider other options since I will be relocating from Puerto Rico and know nothing about Houston Texas, I just will have to look for better teaching job opportunities that also have better living spaces as well.

I'm not sure if the North Shore areas east of the City of Galena Park are better - they may work.
If you are willing to commute a further distance you could try Channelview, Deer Park, La Porte, or Baytown.

Deer Park, La Porte and (in general) Baytown are better overall live/work options than Galena Park. Channelview can be dicey.
