Woodcreek Elem/Cinco Southwest
My husband and I are moving our family to Katy this summer. We are having a really hard time deciding between Cinco Southwest/Highland Builders and Cinco at Seven Meadows/Highland Builders.
Our biggest concern about Cinco Southwest is Woodcreek elementary because there are no stats on the school. Plus, we hear that a new elementary is coming up for that section. Also, my husband just views the area as being more risky.
We know that Cinco at Seven Meadows is zoned to Kilpatrick elementary.
Does anyone have any useful information for us? We have to make a decision very quickly.

OKE vs WCE
My son was at OKE last school year and will be starting at WCE at the end of this month. We are currently renting in Cinco but are having a home built at Pine Mill Ranch that will put us into the WCE district. In my opinion, you can't go wrong regardless of what home/development you choose, Cinco Southwest or Seven Meadows. I live close to both and both are/will be great communities in my opinion. Just find the plan you want but most importantly, the lot you want. When we were looking, I wanted a lot with no house behind us, for a bit more privacy. To me, that was very important. Second to the builder/plans.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
-Tom

The stats were JUST released for Katy ISD and Woodcreek Elem. received an exemplary rating. I think you can't go wrong with either area, personally. I'm not sure but I heard that Cinco at Seven Meadows is not actually part of Cinco Ranch POA, which would mean to me that the amenities associated with Cinco SW (which is Cinco Ranch POA) would be better...more pools and parks and such to use. We personally chose an already built out neighborhood in Cinco West because we don't like being in and around new construction, and our house looks out on OKE. With so much growth and so many new elementary schools (and secondary schools) being built in KISD, they are always rezoning things too so there is often no guarantee you'll end up going to the school you think you are...

Oh, correction, both are part of Cinco Ranch. Well, then the other thing to consider is where your commute will be...if you're gonna be getting on the Westpark Tollway being in Cinco SW would be bit quicker. (although not THAT much) I don't even know which freakin' "village" of Cinco my house is in...for all I know it may be Cinco SW too.

Keep in mind, too, that rezoning is a reality I wouldn't pick a house based on a school that may change anyhow. I am in an established section of Cinco that is rumored to be zoned from OKE to Griffin. I would choose Cinco SW, but that's b/c I like that area bit more. IMO, it is not at all risky.

What's the difference between Cinco SW and Cinco at Seven Meadows? Where are they each located?

Not sure... I live in Seven Meadows, and I didn't know there was a so called subdivision named "Cinco at Seven Meadows"... is this subdivision part of Cinco Ranch HOA? I'm pretty sure it's not part of Seven Meadows. Some of these names are getting ridiculous... Is there going to be a Cinco NW, Cinco at Grand Lakes, Cinco between here and there and everywhere?

You are in the Cinco Ranch 1, Highland Park Village, Cinco South 2 neighborhood (which consists of the subdivisions of Wellington Place, Sterling Ridge and Greenwood Grove) :-). Does that clear it up? - lol. Thank goodness we don't have to put all of that as a return address on an envelope!
Cinco SW is Cinco Ranch 2.
Here's a PDF of the neighborhoods and their subdivisions
http://www.cincoranchpoa.com/pdf/Cin...th-Streets.pdf
And back to the OP - you can't go wrong at either school.

Cinco is so large it is divided up into villages, neighborhoods and subdivisions (well at least Cinco 1 is - Cinco 2 (or SW) may not have as many divisions). And now there is Cinco 1 (the original Cinco covered under one set of by-laws) and Cinco 2 (additional land purchase that has it's own by-laws).
