I personally would reccomment Katy ISD over CyFair ISD. The schools are much better.

Check out Copperfield. It's real close to Willowbrook Mall and it's a nice area.

Lance, Welcome to Texas, it is a great place to live. I agree with others who say Sugarland and even the Woodlands is to far to commute. You could use all the extra time you would spend on the road enjoying your family. Tomball is a nice town, growing bigger. Presently the commute from there to Willowbrook is about 30 min in the morning. However, the freeway is being built there now and will lessen the time. Have you heard about the Bridgelands? It is a masterplanned community which is in its first phase and is about 20 - 25 minutes from Willowbrook. I have lived in the Cypress area all my life and love it. Good luck to you and your family. I think you will like it here

Hi Lance and Family
My husband and I are also new to Houston. I work in the Williowbrook area also (The hospiatal). I would recommend Kimball Hill Homes website. It is new subdivisions and they have a couple in that area (up 249). They have alot of price ranges and very nice homes in good school districts. If you want to look at the school districts just go to the Website (cfisd.net, kleinisd.net, & tomballisd.net) If you look at the school report card also called the Accoutability System you want a school that is Exemplary or Recognized. These are considered good schools. I hope this helps.

We are in Portland hoping to get a Houston job offer tomorrow. We should start an Oregon to Texas Club.

Based on the research I've done, I think there are more good choices for schools in the Houston metro area and surrounding suburbs than there are in the Portland area, at least if GreatSchools.net and SchoolDigger.com are to be believed.

Check out homes in 77379 on Houston Real Estate - Houston Homes, Houston Home Value and Houston Relocation. You can find some nice homes in your price range with good Klein schools.
