Wow - hopefully you will work downtown so that you and your hubby's jobs are somewhat closer and then it would be easier to pick a neighborhood. I would wait and decide on homes after you know where you will work. Houston is very spread out and the commute can be brutal if you don't select correctly for the area and your job.

I am an agent and I will block out an afternoon to show people around town but it must be scheduled well ahead of time and you must be willing to go around with one of my assistants if I have other buyers that need access to my time.

The money earned from a rental agreement is almost nothing and so do not expect agents to be to excited about working on finding you a rental.

I do it because I remember how much of a nightmare it was for my wife and I to find a place when we arrived into town. Plus I like it when people brag about me.
