Post Katy

My husband and I are thinking about relocating to Katy. We have a 19 month old son and we were wondering if there are any playgroups or Mommy and Me type groups that get together in Katy? Also when we were in Katy we noticed there's a lot of places to eat but we were wondering what is there to do within the city limits not in Houston? Anyone who can help would be great. Thanks

There is the Katy Mills mall area. Lots of construction going on there. New shops and restaurants, too.

Then there is The Grand going up:

This development is happening about 25 miles west of Downtown Houston. This project is close to where I live. It mostly resembles the new "Town Center" in Newnan. It is being made by the people who built Houston's Galleria:

Here's Simon's new development in Katy.

Also, there is the Village at Katy:

Then there is La Centerra at Cinco Ranch about to be completed:

That is what I can give you with entertainment in the area. There is an HEB Plus Shopping Center further south of La Centerra. It opened in August.

Katy is all about families so you will have no trouble finding a playgroup for your child.

The shopping and dining out areas are expanding rapidly in that area as Katy is bustling with growth.

I live in the Katy area so am quite familiar with everything out here.

If you need some guidance, email me and I will help you out.

Katy is full of young families. There are many places just for making friends with other moms of little ones. Katy Family Magazine has a lot of links to Katy entertainment. (you don't have to register, just click a link at the top)

Just moved to Houston in November. Moving to Katy in early March. We have a 17 month old. Naturally, your message caught my eye. Give me a shout. We are going to live in Seven Meadows.

Smile Parks in Katy, TX

I live in Katy, TX and take my grandkids to the parks. There are lots of little community parks throughout the different communities. There are also several public parks in the area, from the huge Bush park to the Mary Jo Peckham Park where people can play miniature golf free. There are also several public pools.

Check out the Katy parks and recreation page at www.thebestofkaty.com to find more. They also have Katy entertainment and shopping listings.
