Trading began today for Houston's newest Fortune 500 firm, the Duke Energy spinoff Spectra Energy.

The natural gas pipeline company began trading under the symbol SE on the New York Stock Exchange, where Spectra executives rang the opening bell this morning.
Shares of Spectra were up nearly 3 percent this morning to $28.56.

Positive. New York City is 1st with 44, Houston 2nd with 23, Atlanta is 3rd with 14, Dallas 4th with 11.

It's also home to the 3rd largest number for foreign consulates (86) after Washington, D.D. and New York City.
