Hello! I recently received a job offer in Houston, TX, and my family and I are currently looking for the best spot to relocate. We would really appreciate any advice from this group!

Some specifics and criteria that we used were as follows:

We have two young children, ages 5.5 and 1.5. The importance of high-quality public elementary schools cannot be overstated.

Since my spouse is self-employed, there is no need for me to make a second trip to work.

To live near our relatives in The Woodlands and Austin, we'd want to be close by (so the further northwest, the better).

There is a significant need for public parks, playgrounds, and suitable outdoor places (such as hiking and jogging routes).

Budgets between $800,000 and $1,000,000 are advised. *

Bellaire and West University appear to be the most suitable options thus far. Is that correct? Is it better to spend more time in Sugarland or Pearland? The Upper East Side? Others?

It's great to hear from everyone!

It is difficult to decipher what you mean by this: "Since my spouse is self-employed, there is no need for me to make a second trip to work". Does than mean that nobody needs to commute to work? and so you are free to live anywhere? of one spouse works, and the other does not?

The primary consideration in looking for a house in Houston is where you will be working. You can not commute to every workplace from every residential area. You might get more responses if you clarified your situation.

Why don't you refer to the thread you previously made under a different username? There are a handful of helpful replies in there.

This is the job offer in Webster? Your best choices are League City, Friendswood or Clear Lake.
