hello all,

i'm going to attend UH main this fall semester. i need an affordable and safe place to stay for a female, not too far from UH (~15-20 minutes). my budget is ranging from 5-600 monthly. any suggestions for apartments? i'm leaning towards housing in the heights.

Yep, that'll work. Try looking around the Montrose/Museum District area, too. Very nice duplexes/fourplexes/apts. over there, especially in that border area around Bissonett and Montrose. They may be substantially more than your budget would allow, however, but you should be able to find some deals. You might try Eastwood, super close to U of H. A lot of students have discovered it within the past few years. I don't know how safe you'd feel as a single female though. Or be.

I second the Montrose area that Houstoner describes. You might need to look around a bit, the best deals are generally only advertised by a sign out front.

Eastwood, Broadmoor garage apartment if you want to be close. Midtown if you think you can quickly hook up with a rich boyfriend, eh.
