My family and I are planning to relocate to Sugarland, TX, and heard from some people that recently crime rate is climbing in Sugarland and we should avoid living there. Any advise on this? Thank you.

The crime in Sugar Land is not bad at all. I'm not sure why some people are saying that. It's one of the safer areas of the Houston metro. There is one little area of it that's not as good, basically the northern border around an area called Townewest that borders with Houston.

Sugar Land is a wonderful area to live (if you want a master-planned community outside of Houston). It has its own town square, government and everything. It also has zoning (while Houston does not). It recently made #3 on the list of best cities to live in the U.S.

I bet people are confusing Mission Bend with Sugar Land. Mission Bend, an unincorporated section of Fort Bend County, is going down the toilet due to crime spilling over from adjacent Alief (a section of Houston)

That explains all of those Woodbridge burglaries huh? Sugar Land crime is rising and being closer to the high-crime spots of Houston doesn't help.
