Default Average School Year?

Here in VA, we don't start until after Labor Day and we go until roughly June 20th.

What is the average start and end dates?

The start and end dates for Texas schools have changed in the past few years due to interference from the state legislature. As it stands now, schools will start after Labor Day (Aug 28 for the 08/09 year) and we typically end in late May or early July (June 3 for 08/09).
