Does anyone know any good places to park when visiting the library Downtown? Parking at the library is $2/hour, and if that's full there's a garage nearby that's $5/hour. I'm looking to pay less~

It depends on how long you plan to stay at the library. If its just for an hour or two, meter parking or the library's garage is cheapest. Because frequent the Clayton Genealogy Library a lot, I'll usually kill two birds with one stone by parking there for FREE and then paying the $2.50 Round Trip fair it cost to take the Metro Rail into town and walking from Main to Bagby. The walk isn't bad. In the dead of summer or bad weather, you can take the Tunnels. Exit the Rail at Macy's. If you take the escalator to the bottom floor, it enters the Downtown Tunnel System. *It can be confusing at first, but it's like learning the Zig Zags of a shopping mall. Plus maps are available online * Take the tunnel system through Macy's, to the McKinney Tunnel, turn and go under the Espersen Buildings, and through Two Shell Plaza and One Shell Plaza (there's a Starbucks by the Elevators). Continue towards the Wells Fargo Building. When you get to Wells Fargo, go to street level, exit Smith St., and the library is across the street. A bit of walk but it's in A/C and its like walking through a mall. Restaurants and places of business everywhere.

Has towing ever been a problem for public library parking lots?
