Coming to Pearland in a couples days. Will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express. How
far is that from Galveston and what is it to do in Pearland and Galveston?

I was in this area yesterday, and predictably, the traffic was absolutely horrible. It was bad before and PTC only makes it worse -- much worse. You would think that PTC and H-E-B could pay for some cops to direct traffic, at least during the opening phases. I guess they're too busy with their speed traps on CR59...

Also, I don't understand why all of the traffic to the retail centers in this area is ALL funneled through the intersection of 288 and FM 518. There should be direct access to the four retail centers off of the 288 entrance and exit ramps, instead of forcing it all onto FM 518. And it is time 288 "grew up" to be a real Houston freeway, with feeder roads. I am so glad I did not buy a house in the Pearland area.

Demographics and infrastructure are much better for Baybrook so I don't think you can assume that because Baybrook is one of the highest revenue malls in the city that the Pearland one will as well -- two totally different areas.

The new mall has an interesting outdoor concept. The security guards are very visible on their "people movers". I predict teenagers hanging out here, if they aren't already. Open concept seems nice for the Fall/Winter and dreadful in the heat of the summer. It'll be a *hit* as long as something bigger and better doesn't come a long! Like what's the deal with the concrete presidential bust collection a little bit north on 288?! Now that's just weird. Seriously. I don't get how I will be drawn to restaurants in that area.
