Not knowing your price range, whether you're looking for school districts, etc....Check out on har.com - Sherwood Lake subdivision - it is a gated community with new construction of patio homes (minimal yard/less maintenance) and townhomes. A friend of mine checked it out and loved it. It is just north of I-10 between Wilcrest and Kirkwood (easy commute for you) within Spring Branch ISD (Stratford High zone).
Memorial Drive Townhomes, Somerset Place and Hudson Oaks are other solid communities that come to mind. All these are off Memorial Drive and zoned to the best Spring Branch ISD schools.

Huge huge huge help! I am getting on har.com as we speak...

Yes, I am interested in school districts, but I think I have heard good things about Spring.

THANK YOU!

You mean Spring Branch ISD, right? Not Spring ISD, I hope!

Come buy my condo...3 br, 2ba upper unit, in Georgetown. Great commute to the Energy Corridor, Rummel Creek Elementary. We love it, but we need a house now...our family has been growing quite a bit since we bought it!!

AH... yes you are right now that I have my official "Moving" folder out!!

Hey your place is stereotypically what I am looking for. I have an 8yo. Can you give me ballpark on what I am going to pay? Or a clue on what to put into har.com to figure it out?

When you go to HAR.com, click on Find A Home, then select Townhomes/Condos, and in Subdivision, type in "Georgetown". Be sure to have 77079 in the zip, as there is another Georgetown near Bellaire.

Townhomes range from $115-$180K, and condos range from 1BRs $75K to 3BRs $125K. We are asking $120K for ours (we have a condo, not a townhome, and it is almost 1600 sq ft.

If you want some pics, let me know an email and I can send them.

BTW, Rummel Creek is an EXCELLENT elementary school. Rated "Exemplary" for many years.

Georgetown is a great complex, great location and some of the best public schools in Houston.
Another one would be Hudson Oaks, but it's a little farther away from the Energy Corridor.
