As a suburb dweller, I still like to go into town to explore what Houston has to offer.

Last night I met a friend from out of town. We ate dinner at Olivette (broken link) and then we spent the night at The Houstonian. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the food and service at Olivette were both excellent.

My friend kept commenting on how green and lush the area is around the hotel. Definitely one of the prettiest places I've seen in Houston.

Great facility. My parents belong there, and I got to work out in the fitness center all through the 80's and 90's.

The neighborhoods just west of there are equally as green and lush. This is why people love Uptown and Memorial.

We stayed here on our initial house hunting trip and LOVED it--so lush and green! I felt like I was in the Carolinas. It's a neat spot.
