I was so sure of my decision to leave Florida but moving into a major city is overwhelming. My husband is a carpet tech and I am a teacher. I just need information about school districts. Any teacher with information? As for my husband, where to start? Builders, construction sites, companies. Please, give us your advice. It is better to have first hand information than a brochure or an ad.

Here are school districts in the Houston area:
* Houston ISD - Most of the city of Houston, West University, Bellaire, Southside Place, parts of Jacinto City, Missouri City, Hunters Creek Village, and Piney Point Village as well as sections of unincorporated Harris County - Very large, urban district - Most areas and schools are low income while a few schools attract middle and upper income children
* Aldine ISD - Parts of northern and northwestern Houston as well as sections of unincorporated Harris County - medium-sized and somewhat-dense urban district
* Alief ISD - Parts of southwestern Houston as well as sections of unincorporated Harris County - small and dense urban district
* Alvin ISD - Some of Pearland, cities of Alvin, Manvel, and Liverpool, the village of Iowa Colony, and parts unincorporated Brazoria County - suburban
* Clear Creek ISD - Most of League City, Cities of Clear Lake Shores, El Lago, Kemah, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, Taylor Lake Village, and Webster, parts of Friendswood, Houston, and Pasadena, and sections of unincorporated Galveston and Harris Counties - Quickly-growing suburban district
* Conroe ISD - Cities of Conroe, Cut and Shoot, Oak Ridge North, Shenandoah, and Woodloch as well as several unincorporated sections of Montgomery County (i.e. most of the Woodlands) - suburban district
* Crosby ISD - Small bits of Houston and unincorporated Harris County - rural
* Cypress-Fairbanks ISD - City of Jersey Village, a small section of Houston, and unincorporated sections of Harris County - Quickly-growing suburban district
* Deer Park ISD - Most of the city of Deer Park and part of the city of Pasadena - suburban
* Fort Bend ISD - Most of the cities of Sugar Land and Missouri City, Cities of Arcola and Meadows Place, small sections of the cities of Houston and Pearland, and unincorporated sections of Fort Bend County - Quickly-growing suburban district - Most of it is higher income while some parts in the east and far northwest are lower income
* Katy ISD - City of Katy, small sections of Houston and Fulshear, and unincorporated sections of Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller Counties - Quickly-growing suburban district
* Klein ISD - Unincorporated Harris County - Mostly suburban - portion south of Cypress Creek is declining and is gaining urban characteristics
* La Porte ISD - Cities of La Porte, Morgan's Point, and Shoreacres, and sections of Deer Park - suburban
* Lamar CISD - Cities of Rosenberg, Richmond, Simonton, and Thompsons, small bits of Sugar Land, most of Fulshear, and the town of Pleak - Rural, but becoming suburban
* North Forest ISD - Parts of northeastern Houston as well as sections of unincorporated Harris County - Incredibly low-income, small population district - shrinking as quickly as Katy ISD is growing
* Pasadena ISD - Most of the city of Pasadena, the city of South Houston, and parts of Houston - part urban and part suburban
* Pearland ISD - Most of the city of Pearland and the city of Brookside Village - suburban district
* Sheldon ISD - Small bits of Houston and unincorporated Harris County - rural
* Spring ISD - Small part of Houston and parts of unincorporated Harris County - declining suburban district - turning slowly into a dense urban district
* Spring Branch ISD - Parts of northwestern Houston and the cities of Bunker Hill Village, Hedwig Village, Spring Valley, and Hilshire Village as well as almost all of Hunters Creek Village and Piney Point Village - the southern half is affluent while the northern half is working class
* Stafford MSD - City of Stafford - Small urban district
* Tomball ISD - City of Tomball and parts of unincorporated Harris County - suburban district
