Geeze you are just now looking and the 4th holiday is upon you. Why don't you head to the hill country for a great getaway. You should be able to find a B and B online. I bet you would not want to be near the water over the 4th holiday anywhere on the coast. Much to congested and it would not be romantic it would be stressful trying to get into any place to eat of lay a blanket on the beach. Heck go to New Orleans it is a fun place and very romantic city (the quarter that is) SW flies there cheap.
Fredricksburg would be my choice. My husband and I rented a log cabin there once and it was so romantic plus we had great places to eat in the city.
Finally I am assuming you have stayed on the Riverwalk in SA. If not , that is a choice place for romantics with the boat rides etc. That would be close and you could get a room overlooking the river

Now if you want to do something like the hill country & a cabin by a lake or river and you only have a weekend, flying to Chattanooga or Knoxville, then spending some time close to there & west North Carolina would be much nicer than the sweltering hill country this time of year, and with a lot prettier scenery. If your budget allows that is...

Okay, I will give away my secret just for you, since it's your anniversary.
The San Gabriel River Inn is a little guest house in Joppa, TX, probably a good hour and a half to two hours away from you, near Burnet and Bertram. It is wonderful. The owners live in their own house, but it is much further in on their land and they are not always there. They are the nicest people. I don't know whether their dog Max is still alive (big ol' Lab), but if he is, he'll be your new best friend as he loves to hang around the house. I can't say enough about the restorative qualities to this simple little place. Joppa is a teeny little town and the Little San Gabriel River flows through the property. There is an old iron bridge that crosses it right by the property. The house has an old clawfoot tub inside and a nifty hot tub outside....need I say more?
If you visit the website link above, you'll see what I mean. It's just a neat little place to get away and as romantic as can be. Lots of stars in the sky and tons of privacy.
