Downtown aquarium & Children's Museum
We are flying to Houston this afternoon. Thinking to take 2.5 yr old daughter to Downtown aquarium & Children's Museum tomorrow. Are they fun and worth going? Or anywhere else a must-see for 2.5yr old?

The Zoo! It might be hot, so go early, but we have a good zoo. It's beautiful!
I'm thinking though, with a 2 1/2 year old, what you have will be enough if you're just in town for a weekend.

Thanks! I dont plan to go all the them, just want to pick one that's most worthy to go. I also worry this weather will be too hot for zoo. Is children's musedum very close to Hermann park? Should I also go there?

The zoo would be recommended but it is pretty small considering how large Houston is. So I agree, go in the morning, eat lunch and you'll be outta there not long after to hop over to the air conditioned museums. Downtown Aquarium is ok to do once but bring your money. A date 4 years ago cost me $75 to park, eat (w/o adult beverages), ride the ferris wheel and win a stuffed animal at the water gun shootout game. Maybe this can be your evening stop if your toddler has enough energy left!

Oh heck yes. If you are picking one, I'd pick the Children's Museum! It is awesome. Rated one of the best in the nation, I believe. It is near Hermann Park, etc so accessible by rail. You have to walk a block or two once you get off the train. It's off of Binz.

The Museum of Natural Science was always a huge hit with me. Dinosaur bones and stuff.

Yes, go to the children's museum then take the short walk over to the Museum of Natural Science. Well worth the trip.

Downtown aquarium in Houston is really the worst aquarium in the world. Don't go there.

The aquarium was a big hit with my son when he was two. They also have White Tigers in a really cool display. You can get right up on the glass next to them. Fun for kids and adults!
I forget what the price is, but I'm thinking it's more than the Children's Museum.
