That time of year, once again!
I hope it's okay to post this here. I did last year and wasn't spanked so hopefully I won't get spanked this year.
I know it seems like just yesterday, but WalkNow for Autism 2008 is upon us. It's a great opportunity for me to raise funds to find some answers to this rapidly growing neurological disorder that is affecting 1 in 150 children. As you might know, my 3-year old daughter, Phoebe, was diagnosed with autism in 2007 and we have been struggling to get her to communicate and share her world with us since she could walk. It's been quite a battle, but we would do anything in this world to help her. If you can help her, and others like her, please visit my Walker Page: Support a Walker - Walk Now for Autism Houston
We are the "Feebs Fanatics" again this year! If you want to join the team, and raise funds for her among your co-workers, family, and friends, please do so, we would be most appreciative.
Hubby and I also have a little video on YouTube, a brief, 3 minute journey that tells a short version of Phoebe's issues from birth. We believe that though it is short, it might help others who are walking in the same shoes, and maybe help those that believe there is only one answer to why this is happening to our kids. There are other videos there too that show her progress and some of the fun and interesting things she does, feel free to look!
Thank you for reading and I will post updates occasionally in this thread. Things have been a little crazy here, Phoebe started private therapy, hubby's teaching 4 nights a week, and Paige is growing like a weed--plus we've had company in town. I wish I could post more, but I imagine it will be kinda hairy until school starts.
