Neighborhoods - Any suggestions on nice areas (apartments) to reside and areas to stay away from (I hear Houston can get a little rough) ??

Nightlife - What are some nice places to hang out? I was told to check out indimix.com any other suggestions.

Where you live will depend heavily on where you end up working. Based on your age and expressed interests, I would say that you would enjoy mid-town, Montrose, the Village,or the Rice Military area.

Hey,
Definetly check out downtown Houston.Main street has tons of clubs. You don't even have to drive everywhere, just park and walk down Main st., you can tell by the crowd outside how the club will be inside. Hush is a good club too. It depends also the music you prefer, and the crowd type what place what would be good for you to go to.

You're moving here for the excitement? Really? I guess moving from your home town to anyplace else is exciting in some sense, but don't expect the Vegas strip when you get here :P It's a spread out city with pretty much anything you want within a 30 minute car drive away, but I generally avoid excitement these days
