Default Farmers markets and homes in the 130-180 range?

My fiance and I are considering relocating to the Houston area from Raleigh, NC. Raleigh is around 200,000 people, a bit on the small side in comparison to to Houston. We have a lot of farmers markets and outdoor flea markets, the weather is pretty temperate and sounds relatively similar to the weather in Texas. Does Houston have farmers markets, what are some areas that we should stay away from when looking for homes, what are some areas that we might want to look at (within the 130-180 range)? Any help, feed back, etc... would be great.
Thanks

That range is good for Imperial Oaks off of Rayford - I mention that neighborhood specifically because there's a farmer's market right across Rayford from the IO entrance...

Houston is huge area-wise. To give you a better idea it would be easier if you let us know your propsed work location and what kind of commute you would like.
