Default Opinions of 7575 Kirby?

Hi All,

I'm planning to move to Houston very soon with my girlfriend and I'm looking for an apt for rent near the Medical Center. One place that seems promising is 7575 Kirby. On apartmentratings.com (7575 Kirby Apartment Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other Houston apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com) , there are only positive reviews (it got 100%), but since there are only 3 reviews, I'm a little suspicious still.

1. Does anyone live there now and can comment on general security: parking garage lights working, gate always locked, any thefts or robberies, security presence on premises?

2. What about the management: are they responsive to repairs or requests, any hidden fees/charges, any hassles on ending your lease and moving out?

3. Finally, what about living conditions: any pest problems, noise from neighbors/the pool area, quality of interior fixtures, closet hardware, hot water problems?

Thanks much in advance for your comments and suggestions!

- Jack

Default Not an Apartment building

7575 Kirby is wonderful place - perfect location and nice ammenities. HOWEVER, it is not an apartment building - it is a condo community. There are places for lease through the owners of a some units - but you will be renting from an owner not from the community. This means that your questions mostly refer to your landlord not the building. 80% of the people who live there - own.

1) security is good - it is a low crime area of Houston. I do not know of any issues in years.

2) This depends on your landloard. However the community is working hard to upgrade the property. The HOA just took over from the builder in the last 18 months so they have been getting finances in order and are now focussed on landscaping, cleaning carpets, sealing windows, and painting the facade (you can see the work going on now).

3) Because they are owned it will vary by unit. Noise is generally not an issue. Pests are not an issue but again, this will vary by unit as some people are not as clean. I have my unit sprayed every two months and never have an issue.

I highly reco. this place to live . . can walk to Rice and Med Center.

While I'm sure the OP has already made a decision about this place, folks here need to watch out being downwind from the West U wastewater plant...
