Default Where do late 20's & 30's Black single professionals hang out in Houston

I've been in houston for a couple of years and though i love the city, the one thing that I can't grasp is how hard the dating scene is especially for black females... Anyone have any ideas on where to meet other single black professionals?

Thanks SUBlime. I've been there but just during the busy lunch period... I might try again when I'm less pressed for time.

Wsyiwyg -- I don't really have a problem running into professionals of other races... those have been relatively abundant.. however, black professionals seem few and far between... I'd like to know where they are...

woah. I just took a look around my office floor and just realized we don't have one young african american IT professional here. even in the beginner level! thats nuts! we do have fat albert types and dirty old men types. I do meet some of the younger black guys downstairs at the smoking area. they smoke slim cigars for some reason

Go to Meetups website. Real groups make a real difference - Meetup.com There are tons of social groups for singles, newcomers, Black women, and there is a Black Professional group on there as well. Just search under Houston and type in a specific hobby or interest that you may have. The groups that you are looking for will be under the Cultures & Community List.

Daisee you should try coming to one of the urban league young professional's meeting. There are lots of young black professionals involved in this organization. The meetings start again in august. They usually meet once a month during the weekday and have social events on weekends.
