Mine was 15 with Reliant, but they just sent word that they are raising this to 18. So I just switched and the best rate I found was 16.4. ouch!

Okay, well, I was just furious last night when I opened my bill and find that we are paying 20 cents per kWh. Last month it was 15 cents, which has been pretty normal for us these past few months. Our new treasurer switched us to a new provider, claiming it would be less. Keep in mind we are also submetered, which means our complex pays commercial rates. I just don't understand this. How can a 1600 square foot condominium have a $520 electric bill?

I am so upset right now. Literally, I could have gotten my own individual residential rate for less than this so-called commercial rate, it seems.

A friend of mine is paying a super low rate with Gexa. Did you get it through the Continental rewards program?

You got me. Our 2200 sq ft house would only have a $300 bill with a rate that high. Unless you have some bad energy habits (or perhaps live completely upstairs), it sounds like something needs a major tune-up.

7 cents/kwh. Obviously - I don't live in Texas any more. When I was in Houston, it was 17 cents/kwh with Reliant. Couple the absurd unregulated electrical utilities with the hot climate of Houston, and you have a recipe for disaster. I really feel for you down there. Maybe one day the powers that be will one day uncorrupt themselves and re-regulate that industry. It's absurd what they charge for power there!

Actually, I just checked the Power to Choose website and it looks like some of the prices are coming down a little, with some more 'reasonable' fixed offers (15.6 cents pkwhr -12 mos). The rates still suck, but they're not as bad as last week.
