The sarcasm is making me nervous - everybody that I have talked to at the office today has been overly cynical yet all of my clients called to reschedule their appointments. I am so friggin nervous.
On second thought, what the hell. I'm with Mom2Feebs. I'm going to open a bottle a wine and ride it out. Somebody wake me on Wednesday...

If the power doesn't go out maybe you can sneak around back and throw their breakers.

That's what I was thinking too. I picked up extra feed and alfalfa this evening just in case. That mare goes through a bale of alfalfa every 5 days! Baby boy is HUGE!!!
Mom2Feebs: I won't be up there, as I've got to be at work in the morning. Neighbor next door said she'd peek in on them every now and then, plus the mares stall you can see directly from neighbors living room window, so she doesn't necessarily have to go out in the storm. I'll go by and check on them when I get off work.
My guys (horses) are about 10 miles NW of where mare and colt are, and I'm doing the same with them. I left them out in the pasture most of today and tonight so they get as much moving around... stripped both stalls and bedded deeply, added extra water buckets, put almost a half a bale of coastal in both stalls and threw an extra flake of alfalfa. They should be good to go!
Is it too early to crack open a bottle of wine!?

Lots of people in line tonight to buy gas in Sugar Land. I'm signed up for the City of Sugar Land emergency notification system and I got a call tonight warning of potential high winds, heavy rainfall, flooding, and tornados. City offices are closed tomorrow until at least 1 pm. Citizens are advised to secure anything that could become a projectile in the wind. No recommendation to evacuate.

Well, the ferocious storm, in all its extream, catastrotpic fury, has arrived. Since it took a jog to the north, and came into Chambers Co., I take a direct hit. I don't know if I will survive. My brick home trembles mightily, and my roof buckles in the teeth of howling, 32 mph winds.
WAIT! WHAT IS THAT NOISE?!?! OMG, Its the mighty HURRICAINE HUNTER airplane! The Government is here to save our lives! The billion dollar jet plows valiantly throught the malestrom (for the third or fourth time in the past day or two), protecting us all in SETX with its mere presence.
Friends, its been an honor conversing with you all. I sign off, most likely for the final time, since I see virtually no possibility of survival in this STORM OF THE CENTURY that has decended upon us. May God rest our souls...

This cracked me up!
Astros were playing up in Chicago last night... probably thought from what they were hearing on the news that they were escaping the terrible hurricane, but instead ended up getting much more of a weather event up there than Houston probably will with this...
