It's coming down pretty good here in Seabrook...lots of wind gusts...trees don't know which way to blow....but nothing we haven't seen before. White caps on Taylor Lake!

I guess this explains why many Texans make a big deal about snow and the cold weather. For all I know, southerners enjoy the hype, hoping for some sympathy or something to that effect. Enjoy your version of the 'snow day cabin fever'.

I think all the reporters and weathermen are on suicide watch.
They're all so disappointed.

Yes, I try not to be overly cynical, but I suspect that with every potential storm, all these TV on-site reporters think they're gonna win an Emmy <g>. No wonder they're disappointed that they haven't been blown off the seawall -- yet lived to report about it.
Personally, I think of the turkey metaphor -- birds too dumb to come in out of the rain. At least some of the reporters (I'm too new a Houstonian to know all their names yet) do have the sense to have a hood on tightly -- the ones who just stand there in the rain are idiots.
I'm in Sugar Land off Hwy 6...really it's just a lot of rain so far, and not that heavy or windy! Not that I'm complaining, but it's not The End of The World as We Know it. (And applause for southeasttexan's witty "final" post!!!"

Okay for those of us who live on this side of town - La Porte, Deer Park, Pasadena, Clear Lake, Seabrook, Kemah - Bay Area Houston as a whole - this was a non-event but it could have been more - that being said would the threat of a tropical storm or hurricane or having to contend with the occasional preparation cause you to move elsewhere? I wouldn't. I love this side of town better than the rest of the greater Houston area - can't really explain why -- just do. But I see when people post to relocate - others warn them about moving to CL - "if you move there, you have to deal with hurricanes" -- I wouldn't let that stop me that's for sure -- we've had street flooding far inland from a winter rain deluge. What are your thoughts?
