No we don't. What did it do? Nothing at all. Did it somehow STOP THE STORM? Nope.

Just came back from Kroger with some bottled water to finish off our hurricane survival kit. Their stock was already picked over. Looks like this won't be more than a strong tropical storm; 50-65 mph winds is what they're saying now.

I expect there will be some power outages as I lost power last week for 3 hours twice due to trees on lines. I'm more concerned with potential flooding as they are stating at least 5-6 inches of rain with isolated areas of more. Gassed up my cars as I got stuck for 5 hours last year due to the flooding caused by Erin.

Watching The Weather Channel right now. They're saying 70mph--I think that's close to a Cat 1 Hurricane. Time to PARTY! LOL! (looks in cabinet for Pat O'Brien's mix)

Hope you have that generator handy to power that mixer...

Actually.... when they say 70 mph, for you west-siders more inland, it means "prolonged thunderstorm."

70 mph means 70 mph for us along the coast & by the bay. I'm preparing for the fences to drop and then some.

Looks like they are already telling folks on the west end of Galveston Island to get a move on getting out of there. This is primarily due to the high tides that are expected to close roads. Jamaica Beach has called a meeting for residents first thing in the AM. For the rest of us, it will probably just be like a prolonged severe thunderstorm.

This has now been updated to a Hurricane Watch for the coastal counties of Brazoria, Harris, Galveston & Chambers.

Reading the READERS COMMENTS on the Chronicles website, it seems this little rainstorm is causing a celebration! So much for the HURRICAINE HUNTERS being needed!
