Hmmm... Fair point, though I think the prospect is far more frightening for the frog.

Watch this clip. Marvin Zindler (yes, I've heard of him even all the way up here in Kentucky) did a story on this almost 20 years ago. Don't ask me how I found it.

Maybe you'll laugh, maybe you won't, but you're not the first person in your scenario.
That was awesome. I would have never guessed 1990 though.

Topaz, I am reminded of your original post about the frog because our new house in Katy? The yard is INFESTED with frogs! It's crazy! Actually I have no idea if they are frogs or toads or what variety they are. The first night I stepped out back to walk the dog and almost stepped right on one...and saw another sitting nearby. Tonight as soon as the sun set, my husband was taking the trash out and saw FIVE in our driveway, sidewalk, etc. Gotta remember to close the garage door before the sun goes down! Could have something to do with the drainage ditch behind our house....

We are still traumatized by the frog! No one goes into our house without checking by the front door before going in...we don't want to accidentally let in a frog or two. Everyone in our family looks carefully before using the bathroom facilities to make sure there isn't a frog staring up at us.

But we haven't had any more frog sightings, thank goodness! One was enough...

Amphibians are nearly invasive here and a part of life so as blunt as it may sound, get used to them.

Gulf Coast toad - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Finding a shrivled-up toad that was accidentally let in one night happens every so often. Tree frogs and Bullfrogs aren't as common but they are lurking, too.

At the present time a bigger concern is letting in too mosquitos due to last week's rain. You can get West Nile Virus from those; frogs & toads never hurt anyone.

The frogs/toads really don't bother me...I suppose finding one in a upstairs toilet would be frightening though. They're kinda cute, although I worry about the dog licking them, I've heard how dogs get all kinds of sick from licking toads. My husband warned me though that with the drainage ditch behind us and all the toads...snakes eat toads. Those will probably startle me more but I can live with them so long as they aren't the poisonous variety.

I flipped on the back porch light last night just to see if there were any toads and of course there was a big one sitting right in front of my glass door. Makes sense I guess that they would gravitate towards the light....that's where the bugs are!
