If you want authentic mexican you gotta go School Bus (roadside) Taqueria.... there you'll find the best mexican food mmm

The first Los Cucos restaurant went up on Clay Rd, which is now a seafood cucos.

La Mexicana is very authentic compared to the taco truck/buses.

Pico's in Bellaire is still one of my favorites.
Otilia's on Long Point has the best Cream of Pablano soup. YUMM!!

No, I think that one came later. The one on Spring Cypress and 249 was there back in the 80's I think. I am not going to swear to it though.

Tonight a neighbor told me that the rent on the restaurant was $12,000 per month so when the lease was up, the restaurant owners didn't want to renew. I guess that means they weren't making a comfortable profit given the expense.

$12,000!!?? That place was so sparsely decorated for being a restaurant. They certainly didn't sink a lot into the place, so not much lost.
