yep
you have to adapt.
I spend at least an hour a day outside, I have no problems with the heat. I do long bike rides on saturday in this stuff. drink your fluids correctly and use some common sense. but you have to spend some time in it.

spending all day in the office or propped up on the couch than waddling to the mail box everyday aint gonna cut it...

Just wait until the middle of winter, and the rest of the county is buried under snow and freezing rain and you are wearing your light sweater on the 9th hole on your favorite golf course.

Set up a small work out area in the garage or a non-air conditioned room. Work out in this room for 30 minutes a day. Do this for a week and the outside summer temperature will feel like a breeze.

Ah, to Hell with it. At least I got plenty of cold beer.

The Humitity is good for your skin, makes you look young. You cant complain for the last few days rain and 80 degree weather feels like the islands but no water.

Generally speaking, yes, it's hot in summer (newsflash), but how hot varies depending on the amount of rainfall we get and what's happening in the Gulf. The rain helps cool things off. The summer before last was rainy, rainy and not nearly as hot as usual.
