Default Houston area homes

Hello!

I currently live in a suburb of Chicago, but there is a chance that my husband's company will be moving us to Houston. He works with hospitals and they would be mostly in north Houston, so within 30 of there would be fine.

I really don't know anything about the area, I haven't even ever been to Texas, outside stopping at the airport We are young, but thinking about a family soon, so we would really like a safe, kid friendly area, but still close to fun activities, bars, sporting events. Our budget is $250-300,000.

There are so many areas to look, and I could really use some help on some places to narrow down my search and also some places to avoid. Thanks in advance!

Spring or Cypress area I would guess. North Houston is kinda vague.

your budget gives you many options. You'll find a good area with little trouble.

I agree with Chris - North Houston could mean a number of different things. Do you know if that means up up toward the Woodlands? Or towards Cy-Fair?

You can start your search on HAR.com. Click on find a home, single family, and then click on the MLS map on the left side of page. The northwest areas are 10,13 and part of 8. Hope this helps!

thanks for everyone's help so far. There would be a few different hospitals that he would be working at but I know one of the biggers ones is MD Anderson. Right now the person that has this territory lives in Spring.

I live in Northsore, next to the Sam Houston Belt way, so I will sujest you Liberty a small sector in the corner of the 8 Belt way and High way 90. I mean in the northeast. It is new and across the 8 Belt way are two shoping centers...
