Seems like no matter where you are. When disaster strikes the first things to go are bread and milk. I guess everyone plans on making french toast..LOL

I was at the Randall's on Westheimer@Shepherd around 11 last night and some lady in a pickup truck was cruising all around the parking lot blaring the Scorpions' "Rock You Like A Hurricane."

See, entertainment's not hard to find in this here city.

This is just what I needed. I came here to find valuable information and it was much better... I'm laughing in the face of Gustav. Thanks for making me laugh and not worry so much. You're right...gotta just hunker down and laugh about it. Guess I'll make a run for bread and batteries...ugh!

I laughed in the face of Rita, and she stayed away.

I tend to stick to what works.

Angry help? yes. Leave the thugs? NO

OK, this is the issue I am having with Hurricane Gustav. We took in thousands upon thousands of Katrina evacuees. The right thing to do, right? The only problem with this is, they come here for help and then the decent people return when the storm is gone only to leave their thugs behind. Look at the rise in crime since Katrina in Houston alone... I'll let you make the connection. This is the thanks we get??! We actually had family from New Orleans stay with us for 2 months until they were allowed to go back home. Yes, that's what they did. They went back home ! I really think the evacuees should have been ordered to go strictly north or east. That would make the most sense I would think. Or better yet, stay in Louisiana. After all, there are quite a few inland cities in their own state, aren't there? Let Louisiana take care of their own for once. Now, there's a thought! Don't get me wrong, every state or city has their hard-workers and their thugs. The difference is, when we have an issue, we take care of ourselves and try not to inconvenience anyone else. OH, but then again, we don't feel the world owes us everything. I'll tell you one thing, if Houston and or Texas keeps welcoming with open arms, they need to stop and think about how our very way of living will become a cheap rendition of New Orleans. Now, do we really want that and all that implies??
