I've been looking for upperclass neighborhoods near the Texas Medical center. Does anyone reccomend any?

How upper-class do you want to be?
Specifically, how much money are you willing to spend?

Let me put it this way. A reasonable house in the area I live now will cost me around $350k-$600k in California. And I know that housing in Texas is considerably cheaper, so I'm thinking along the lines of $325 max

West University and other neighborhoods around Rice University, which is right across the street from the TMC, are closest. A cursory search on har.com reveals you may have to raise your price point considerably, however.

Houston is just as expensive as all the major cities in the Upper class areas. What gives Houston the "CHEAP HOUSING" reputation is all the exburbs, an hours drive to Downtown/TMC
Frankly, I consider upper class housing in Houston to start around a million +/-. Upper-middle from 400-1 million. 350 would be a Yuppie in a small ranch in an area like Meyerland.

How about Willowbend?
You might have to re-examine your definitions of "upper-class" though. Housing here isn't that cheap anymore.

Houston is cheaper when you get outside the loop.
Inside the loop you will find our home prices not much cheaper than in Cali.

Is 350k all you need to be upper class these days?
For comparison 350k in the burbs gets you this: 8414 Jackson Creek Bend Ln, Humble, TX 77396
In an upper class area it gets you this:
Cheapest house listed in River Oaks right now is 750k. West University is 710k.

The nicest area roudn the Md Center is West University - but very difficult to touch for many.
Try River Terrace. It is a "changing" neighborhood. you may like that, you may not......
