Looks like this morning the track has changed completely and is headed for Brownsville. How can the entire "cone of uncertainty" shift like 200 miles?? Anyway for the moment it appears we're almost in the clear.

I guess that's why it's called the cone of uncertainty.

And now the track has been nudged a bit north to just south of Corpus Christi. It's looking better for us here in Houston/Galveston area, but I wouldn't let your guard completely down just yet.

Yes, track is moving north again. Remember Rita was forecast for Brownsville 3 days ahead, then Matagorda 2 days ahead...look where she ended up! Not the time to relax yet. In any case this storm is large, if it goes in at say...Corpus...we could see quite a bit of rain and flooding. As for it going in at Matagorda...remeber Carla in '61?

It should become "the cone of incompetency", whereby all trough systems suck future hurricanes up into "the vortex of indecision" and spit them out somewhere in the plains states, aka "the tunnel of nothingness".
Bleh.
