I am doing good but have had no power since Saturday morning....hanging in there but tough walking around in a completely dark house with flashlights and candles. It'll be all good though.

So....yeah. I'm ok and have power at home. And I got on here to post after noticing I had internet access at home. Right after posting that a few days ago I went to go upload pictures and ----- gone. No innernets anymore. Still none at home I'm out taking pictures right now, and on a wi-fi at Starbucks in Midtown. It just re-opened today.
Power is still spotty in my patch of town, and most of Lower Westheimer was in the dark when I walked by. The scent of rotting garbage is all over the place. Loads of fun.
Pictures are coming, I promise...
Glad to see everyone's all right.

IN GENERAL: Well built, brick homes survived with superficial damage, wood frame houses a little less so. Mobil homes & RV's damaged and flipped over. Many buisnesses on SH124 damaged badly, some flat-out destroyed. TONS of trees down, most signs gone. No surge flooding, as Winnie is high elevation. Power will take weeks to restore. DM me, if I can provide more specific info, no guarantee, but I will try.
Scary storm when you are alone at 1 AM, in dark, and debris hitting your home....But I made it, Thank God.

So glad that you made it !! I would have been terrified ! My son has returned home this week and has filled me in a little bit. He says that the town really looks bad but also that there are people staying in Winnie right now that are from some of the even less fortunate areas. His house (not brick) did not sustain much damage...mostly downed trees, some flashing missing, fence gone, and that sort of thing. He was very fortunate ! As were many of you ! I do hope that you get your power back on sooner than they expect and I also hope that your weather does not revert back very soon to the typical hot and humid weather !!!! You all are still in my prayers!

Reporting from 77035, off of Willowbend and S Post Oak next to the Train Tracks
As of right now in my neighborhood, only a few houses have power, fortunately I am one of those houses.
Also no comcast service at all, AT&T has been around the neighborhood quite a bit.
I am work, limited power, the office is operating off of a generator.
Good to see everyone is doing good, it was a bit startling, but I didnt get the chance to shoot the eye down.

Best Friends is out here now rescuing pets. Here's a link to a story of pets rescued off of Bolivar peninsula. There's also a link to a rescue video and information about supplies needed at the Galveston animal shelter .
