Ours went off again for 3 hours the day after we got it back. I was about to cry. But all seems to be good now.

I'm going to head out to the Montrose area later tonight, after dusk, so I might see how things are coming along over there and along the way.

I live in Montgomery, the lake area, and lost power at 5 a.m. the morning of the storm. My company is Mid-South Synergy out of Navasota, they get their power from Entergy - answers that question. I was out for 7 days.
My personal opinion about a generator coincides with the 72 hour preparedness suggestion, if by 3-4 days you don't have power, respect your neighbors who don't have a generator unless you have 3K worth of meat in your fridge, because one of my neighbors kept hers on while she slept soundly 2 blocks over at her man's house. I finally text and asked her to at LEAST turn it off overnight so I could open the windows and SLEEP! Some people are caring and compassionate, some are clueless and self-absorbed!

There are quiet generators you know. Not much louder than an AC.

Yes! AC is so under appreciated. Cranking up the hair dryer tonight and blowing out these frigging ringlets!

Those are the rolling blackouts they warn us about because they ask us to conserve, keep the air on 78, don’t use washer/dryers in the middle of the day, etc., but sometimes, people just don’t care. Hence, overload!

I liked the way the generators sounded - it reminded me of the white noise from the sound machines we usually have on in our house.
