We live in the Galleria area across from the new Target & Jamba Juice. We lost power for an hr but then only part of the complex has regained it. Today the majority regained it. We were lucky & lost it only for an hr.

We live in Robinson's Landing in New Territory. Our power went out around 11:45 pm on Friday night and as far as I know, it hasn't been restored. I'm in a hotel in Austin and we are tired of being here. We may come home tomorrow and just tough it out without power.

Those without power are getting some relief from nature. Temperature will be cooler than usual for a few days.

We lost power at 6PM Friday and got it back today Monday at 4PM. We are in East Fort Bend county (no city .. just country) and we are glad to have the power back on. I do have a small 5600 watt generator and I am thankful for that. The gen provided us power for our fridge, a few lights, fans and TV. We had a fuel supply (for the gen) of 30 gallons and when the power came back on we had just under 5 gallons. Although this small generator provided well for us we do plan to have a larger unit installed that will provide much more power. Almost everyone near me has a generator ... because this is not the first time the power has gone out. But I'll admit it was the longest time without any power.

Although this was expensive power (25 gallons x $4/gallon = $100 for three days of power), I expect this was way cheaper than staying at a hotel for the interim, not to mention that you got a head start on cleanup during the time you were at home. Plus you got to cook your meals instead of having to eat out at whatever restaurants happened to be open - which can't be all that many, given that many service workers are probably staying in some out-of-town hotels.
