Default Mission Bend vs. Bear Creek area?

Some of you may have seen my other thread in search for a middle/working-class majority hispanic neighborhood.. I've found a few areas I'd like to get some more info on. Does anyone live there currently or know what the crime is like there?

The 2 areas are:
- 77083 zip code / Mission Bend (especially the section in Fort Bend County/ISD)
- The area around Highway 6 between Clay Rd. and West Little York .. not sure what it is called I guess Bear Creek?

Mission Bend in SW Houston has far more Hispanics than Bear Creek which is mostly middle class whites.

Really because there are a few schools around there and in parts of Katy that have 60% or more hispanic students.. is this not an accurate description?

Bear Creek is a nice area and you would also have Bear Creek Park to go to on the weekends.

Area west of 6 is "Mission Bend" between Beechnut and 6 and Bellaire and 6 this area is zoned to Bush HS. IMHO, I would not consider these good areas. Lots and Lots of foreclosures. lots of raids and drug activity. Just check the crime stats for these areas.

Actually I have checked the crime stats and they seem perfectly safe. Is there something I am missing or is the area you speak of more of the Alief area?

Houston Crime Maps | ZIP Code | 77083

What types of raids do you mean and where do you get this info?
Thanks!

I grew up in that area but on the Alief side. The area as a whole is not that welcoming....last week someone was killed at the gas station on Addicks-Clodine and Bellaire. Not a safe area by all means.

That map is flawed. It only reports crimes in that zip code that occurred within the city limits of Houston. Everything west of Highway 6 on that map is not in Houston and therefore not reported. Rather, it is unincorporated Harris or Fort Bend County.
