I read in a survey somewhere that put Houston among the bottom for 'coffee towns.' With a little traveling to the north, I can believe it. For instance, go to Calgary... pure coffee heaven!!!

They should rename themselves "Slurpin' Coffee"

They have good coffee, but IMO that's easier to find/make than a good donut.

I believe that. I spend the most time in Sugar Land and the Museum District / Montrose and neither of them have as many coffee places as I would have expected.

Katy must have all the coffee places that the rest of Houston and the suburbs lack. Sugar Land, in particular, could really use some more. And all those Starbucks in grocery stores don't count!

We had Dunkin Donuts in Dallas when I was growing up. Then they all shut down for some reason. I thought it was a buyout or something. But who knows.

Anyway, it looks like good news for DD fans: Dunkin Donuts to add 107 stores in Houston area.

hammer,

Thanks for the link!!! I haven't seen that.

Maybe they should just consider DD coffee stands instead. Houston doesn't need anymore donuts anyway. Weren't we named America's fattest city?

Being from Chicago and loving DD, I have to admit...shipley's donuts are way better. The coffee on the other hand...nothing beats dunkin.

Originally from RI here and I too miss the DD's......coffee and donuts. IMHO, Shipley donuts are no way as good as DD. And yes, the DD coffee is really good as well. I have seen DD's, up north, Spring I think?

Buying DD coffee beans at the market isn't the same as going into a DD.

Just my 2 cents
