Okay you are correct. Mission Bend is definitely more suburban than urban. I'd say about 75 percent of Alief ISD is urban. The Mission Bend part, the neighborhoods along Eldridge where the administrators live and Royal Oaks are suburban. But parts like Bissonnet/Kirkwood, anything along Beechnut between Dairy Ashford and Gessner and Club Creek areas are most definitely urban.

I was schooled in KISD from 3rd grade thru HS graduation. The district in general is pretty good but there are some bad schools, mainly north of I-10 like someone mentioned, so do your research to see what school you would be zoned to.

To me, a school district is only as good as their special education department. I'm biased, sure, but then, it says a lot about how they feel about kids and education and you don't need a special needs kid to understand that.

Having said that, IMHO, Katy ISD is awesome. So is Spring Branch ISD, where we are currently.
