Default Investment in Houston

Hi!

I am going down to Houston this weekend to purchase a property for investment. I live in S. California. Does anyone have any input about investment in the heart of Houston? I am looking at a high-end loft called "The Lofts on Post Oak." I was told the rent is really high there. I will also be touring the northern parts of Houston (Spring, Woodlands, Humble, etc.) as well. Can anyone provide some insights as to these areas and advice for a first time, out of state investor like myself? Any tips you can offer is appreciated.

Thanks!

Default If You are Looking for Appreciation

Near north side. Buy an old house 20%-25% down... might have to do some repairs... and rent it out, break even and wait 3-5 years. Buy that loft and put 30-40% down...no work...management co...break even. Wait 5 years.
I have lived in Hou all my life... I work it and know it.

Stuart

How north, near airport? How come people rent the house if the price of house is cheap? If you can pay 1200 per month for rent, why don't we buy a house?
