Post Commuting from the woodlands to conroe or spring

If I wanted to live in the woodlands and worked in either spring or conroe how would the commute be? Is the traffic really bad. How far is spring or conroe from the woodlands. How long would it take me to commute? Thanks for the help.

How long it would take depends on where in The Woodlands and where in Conroe or Spring. Traffic is not particularly fun up there in rush hour, but you're probably not going that far of a distance.

It's not fun but it ain't bad if you compare it to some areas which seem to be jambed all day long. Just above Woodlands, through Conroe and to Willis is all that new construction where they are widening I-45 to at least 5 lanes in each direction. Going south it loosens up after the construction and going north to Conroe you will find a big rubbernecking boondoggle where 5 lanes sqeeze into 2.

Like jfe said, its just a short distance anyway. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the help. I was just curious because I would like to move in that area sometime down the line. And if I wasn't able to find a job in the woodlands but wanted to live there I would probably have to work around conroe or spring.

Those suicide entry ramps in Conroe are crazy. I wonder how many people have died this year alone from those damn things.

Expect Conroe to be a difficult place for two more years. One can get off of the freeway at loop 336 and get to about anyplace however without big log jams.

yep, the 336 gets you pretty much anywhere in the area...and during commute times, simply stay on the feeders..

...Praying we can move to our Conroe home soon....I'll take I-45 commute anyday over CA B***S !

my wife drives to the woodlands everyday to work from montgomery which is about 35 minutes with no traffic. when she leaves work to come home at 5:00 it takes her about 50 minutes. it isn't that bad.

It's no worse than I-35 through the heart of Austin...

There are a couple of great back roads to Spring from the Woodlands. One is Gosling. We live in North Hampton, Spring. From here getting down to the remainder of Spring is easy. You may want to check this neighborhood out. If you plan to go to Conroe you'd be better of in the Woodlands. There is always highway 45 it goes both ways and moves good out here. Also a nice back road to Conroe from the Woodlands east of 45 maybe 1314. Less traffic than Houston proper but still busy during rush hour. Feel free to e-mail. TSB
