Default Apartments in the Westchase area of Houston

My job is relocating me to Houston. The office is located on Richmond not too far east from the tollway (77042). Does anyone know of any nice apartments within a 15 to 20 minute drive of this area? My main concern is safety. I would like to stay in the $800 or so range. Thanks.

Stay away from anything S of Westheimer and older units on Wilcrest.
Newer apartments are on Westheimer at Kirkwood and inside the belt near Old Farm

I am moving to Houston for employment reason. The company is located near Westchase shopping center. The safety, cheap rent, short distance to the company are someimportant factors for us right now. Do you have some apartment to recommend for now?

I actually live in that area (Woodlake Oaks) it's a pretty quite complex, but older. It is true south of westheimer is not so great, but I live north of westheimer towards Briar Forest. The newer complexes are nice, but I'm saving for a house and to get the same size apartment I live in, in a newer complex would be around $1200-$1600 which would take a HUGE chunk from my savings. Basically you are paying for granite counters, updated appliances, and pretty much the fact that it's new. The way I see it you’re still paying for amenities that you don't get to keep. There are tons of apartment locators in Houston and that is how I found my complex. I am a single female and my complex has been safe for the 4 years that I have lived here.

I would look at at Westheimer and Gessner (North of Westheimer). They have built some new apartment complexes north of westheimer at this intersection that look pretty good. The area is great for younger people looking for good bars and good food. Lots of young professionals in the area.

Didn't see your post. If you are looking for those qualities I mentioned then the same applies to you.
