We live in SA right now and hubby either gets a job in Austin or Houston. I know Austin well but Houston not so much. The place that is looking at him is on Beltway 8 and Richmond. Is there a name for the area..ie Central Business District something like that... Is a commute from Katy or Sugarland or that area ok? Last question here in SA if you live in a gated neighborhood then the HOA has to keep up the streets, streetlights etc not the city cause they consider it private property is the Houston area like this also?

TIA

I think it's mainly referred to as the Westchase district. Either Katy or Sugarland wouldn't be too bad of a commute for that area.

This area is known as the Westchase District. Commuting from Sugar Land and Katy both should be pretty easy (most likely 20-30 minutes or so, depending on how deep into the suburbs you'd live).

As for your question about gated communities, I have no idea. Perhaps someone else can answer that for you.
