Like, cause it's on the ocean, whenever we get cold fronts, if Houston gets to the 30s, Galveston almost always stays in upper 40s or 50s. I don't ever remember seeing Galveston freeze.

And in summer, it's less hot, like upper 80s when Houston is mid 90s.

How nice....

Port Arthur is similar in the summer. Whenever the winds are not blowing from the north due to a cold front, there is always a cool(er) sea breeze that never lets up. It seemed this summer it rarely ever got above about 91 or 92 there.

(Winter on the other hand... that area is generally a few degrees cooler than Houston, and it's noticeable just about every day.)

I haven't been to Galveston in a while, but if memory serves, it also cools down at night there more often during summer than it does in Houston, which tends to stay hot even at night.

In the summer the Bay will always be cooler then the ambient temp. So you will always get cooler air blowing in over the Bay. In the winter the Bay water will be warmer then the ambient temp so you will get a warm breeze blowing over the Bay to land.

I have the lake breezes from the big lake and insist I dont get the humidity that Houston gets.
