First of all, let's get the grammar right. I realize you are from Greece, which will no doubt mess you up for Latin-based languages, but work with me here. We don't begin a sentence with "And". Secondly, who is "they"? You mention "And then they say...". That makes no sense. It is as if you are alluding to a prior post you made, yet that is not the case.
Forgive me for going off on a tangent there. I was going to talk about what a troll you are, but da*n it all, I saw the grammar and completely lost my train of thought. Priorities!
Oh, and listen, before I forget, maybe you should read this journal article in Nature:
Obesity - Abstract of article: Epidemiology of Overweight and Obesity in a Greek Adult Population: the ATTICA Study[ast][ast]

Overweight and obesity seem to be a great health problem in the Greek population, especially in middle-aged and older adults.

Hm. America has a problem, eh?

Actually,I meant no disrespect for Americans, since I want to be an American myself...
Although it takes 7 long years to become a citizen...
In fact ,my comment is pro American, since meals are affordable & portions are larger than in the old world...
I think the grammar rule not to start a sentence with " And " is obsolete...
Modern American has almost no rules, you can even write slang & say " you was " or " u woz " ...
That's the magic in a language.
God bless America...

How does the Thai restaurant Golden Room compare to Tony Tai's? Which is better? I thought Tony Tai's was the best in Houston, but never knew about Golden Room

First of all, this isn't a formal board. "And" is an acceptable way to start off a sentence here.
What the poster should have said is "and this is why Houstonians are overweight". Based on the articles a couple of years back anyway.
Steak – Vic & Anthony’s
Italian – Michelangelo’s
Mexican – El Jardin, Hugo’s for authentic Mexican
Burger – Christian’s Totem
Sushi – Bluefish (going to try Soma soon)\
Seafood – Tony Mandola’s, Café Montrose for mussels
Brunch – Baby Barnaby’s
Desert – Empire Café, House of Pies
Fast food - Sonic
Other good places:
Feast
Da Marco
Bayou City Pasta
Marks

Hugo's is definitely not your average Mexican restaurant. Lots of stuff you won't see at most places. Oh, and it's expensive. Not really my bag. I have a thing against expensive Mexican food. It's against my religion, whatever that is. If I can't get in and out of there under $10 after a tip, and I can't go in there wearing a T-shirt, forget it. But to each their own as it's been said...

My Houston Picks
I've got three Houston institutions (so far ) that I have here as personal favorites when I am in your city. You don't get these anywhere else but right here in H-town.
These are:
Goode Company BBQ (Katy Frwy location, but they have 2 others) - Prices are moderate, but the food is absolutely worth it. I never leave this city without a visit here.
Becks Prime (any Houston-area location ) - This is the greatest burger I've ever had in the state of Texas. Inexpensive to moderate.
Molina's (Westheimer, but they have others) - Wonderful enchilada dishes. Reasonable prices.
And one that I hope to visit on my next time in: the Cleburne Cafeteria. It's legendary, but I can't believe I still haven't tried that place yet.

I'm not trying to be "formal", I'm merely making a point, which I think you've missed. I don't appreciate someone popping into a thread without so much as a "howdy, I'm...*insert name here*", and giving a one-or two-liner insult. Here, let me come to your house and tell you why your mama is so ugly. WTF? This is a thread about favorite restaurants, for God's sake. You wanna come in here and start pointing fingers and talking about how fat Americans are? You'll get some pointed right back 'atcha.
